						It is not uncommon in Art History to find artistic decisions that immortalize the gesture of the creator, often transcending the original context of the work. In 1533, Hans Holbein (1497/8-1543) completed the famous painting The Ambassadors, a work that still intrigues its audience today. Holbein subverts the classical rules of painting by introducing, into a composition that exalts knowledge and science in a sober and academic universe, an unusual symbol that disturbs it. The vanitas, occupying a large area of the lower part of the canvas, evokes the ephemerality of life and the inevitability of death, and instigates a premonition—a reminder of the transience of reality, even for those who master earthly knowledge, as is the case with the portrayed subjects.&#38;nbsp;

						A exposição IV Capítulos parte de um convite a Hugo Cubo, Bárbara Faden, Laura Caetano e India
Mello, que produziram obras especialmente para esta ocasião, compondo uma narrativa visual que
reflecte sobre a sua identidade e o seu legado enquanto artistas. A ideia de capítulo surgiu como
analogia para a organização do espaço original da galeria e o facto de cada artista ter desenvolvido o
seu projecto individual em cada uma das salas.

Refletindo sobre a relação de proximidade e tensão entre o corpo e os objetos, a proposta curatorial procura mostrar as divergências e convergências na construção de uma fluidez entre o humano e as coisas, um corpo híbrido, humano-coisa.

FENDA is an exhibition that questions various aspects of society's and art's relationship to poverty. The exhibition intends to be above all a show dedicated to contemporary creation, either by listing artists in whose work social issues are relevant, or through proposals or challenges made to a group of creators who express an interest in tackling the theme of poverty in its various aspects. where the problem emerges in today's society. A set of historically and artistically relevant pieces from the art of the past intersect with contemporary languages, dialoguing with them and showing the artistic and historical “ballast” of the perception of poverty in various epochal contexts.

					We were once told by our friend Laura that a straight line is a small
portion of an infinite circle. Looking back on this, her advice can be
applied to practically any context, any emotion, to a single word or
gesture, as if it were a universal way of looking at life. At the time she
didn’t mean anything special, it was just chit-chat bar talk, but it stayed
in our thoughts.

					Time flies by here, with our fast-paced conception of living. We are in Paris, the city of lights. A metaphor for the epicenter of modernity, light is a synonym for avant-garde thinking. In this city, great minds have come together to reimagine the Western world. Maria wants to know, what about now? How many of these lights still brighten Paris in present times? Is There Yet Space For Light is an introspection on the absence of light in the world, shedding light on environments that corrupt our capacity to imagine and to perceive. It is indeed a rhetorical question, hence there is no question mark at the end. The digital world, over consumption, relentless construction, and all sorts of other deteriorating realities that occupy our space. Is There Yet Space For Light is as mental as it is incredibly physical exercise.&#38;nbsp;

	Hana Yoo’s&#38;nbsp; overarching thesis, questions the complex power system of hierarchical positions through storytelling. This interest places the artist’s practice in a denunciatory tone of capitalist behaviors, underlying in our everyday political and social realities. Through two video works, the exhibition establishes itself as a provocation: What defines our identity and how is it being manipulated? If the eyes are a mirror to your soul, an opposite picture is painted if you can’t look in someone’s eyes. By dissolving the human aspect, pointing it towards a more machinal state, oppressive behaviors and tools become easier to maintain in a well sealed environment.

	I'M FINE IF YOU'RE FINE
ARTROOM (LISBON)

	The title of this exhibition comes from a recent discovery about the concepts of care, empathy and friendship in a contemporary evaluation of the political, social and economic state of our world. While doing research, however, what I most found interesting (and distracting) about it were the potential aesthetic parallels with Theodore and Lisette’s exhibition, mainly the two present subjects (the you and the I) and the word fine. I tested its’ potential by analysing it through an ironic elasticity. By comparing the initial context to an everyday situation, the question became “how to return them to daily life?". The ambiguity of the short words and common vocabulary — I’m fine if you’re fine — perfectly matched the direction chosen for this exhibition.
